More Previously Registered Domains
Recently, bored out of my mind and not focused on getting anything done, I was scrolling through the domain names for sale on Ebay. One interesting name popped up that reminded me of the previous post about domain names that have been owned by other people.
Here's the Ebay Listing
The site has a phenomenal amount of backlinks, more than 400.
Despite the Ebay listing stating a Page Rank of 3 the current parked site has no Page Rank whatsoever. The site has been archived going back to 2004 and their logo, shown below, is easily obtained for building out a relevant site with Google ads relating to comics and comic books. (Which'll only get you $ .80 a click max, but hey)

So if one was so inclined to spend $ .99 for a domain name and managed to get only two clicks in the next couple of months they would be profitable.
My problem is that someone poured their heart into this comic, though I have never read it, and the site was their "baby" for a time.
Sounds a little like Piracy to me. Not in the much used current sense, but in the old, I'll steal and rename your ship frame of mind.
Isn't that what iReit.com tried to do with my old domain name?
Am I trying to distance myself from the fact that I sometimes buy domain names previously owned by other people?
The truth of the matter is that I do not actively search out expiring names in order to snatch them up. And if I happen to catch a name, ThirdMesa.com for instance, that has been previously registered then it is by luck, or fate, or the will of the Creator.
So I'm not going to buy the domain name for $ .99 on Ebay to make into something that would be profitable.
I already have too much to do without daydreaming in the bargain bin on Ebay for Domain Names.
