eBooks, Ebay and Things Going Smoothly
Finished writing my second eBook the other day. The first one still hasn't reached the sales levels that I had hoped but I chose to push on, esp. since now I'm using Open Office instead of PrimoPDF or PDF995 to convert the finished product. This works great because I can integrate clickable links that aren't blatantly http:// then with my affiliate code.
Anyway the latest DNS changes haven't gone through for me to upload the sales site so I figured I would try and get the sales machine going by uploading to Lulu.com. Everything went great until I double checked my eBook. NONE of the links worked.
Whatever they do to prepare your eBook for printing kills all the links. So I pulled it from distribution.
So why not Ebay?
Ebay changed their policies towards Digital Download Products March 31st. Now if you want to promote an eBook you have to pay for their $9.95 Classified Ads in the Everything else > Information Products Category.
Sure it's a 30 day listing but you don't get any feedback about the transaction towards your Ebay account.
Truthfully I can see why they would limit such auctions as they were a way to falsely inflate your feedback by purchasing 100 1 cent eBooks and getting 100 positive feedbacks in the course of a few hours.
I think there was an eBook about it.
So I'm coming into the eBook Marketplace as a Publisher at the wrong time.
Always seems to be the story lately.
Anybody want to buy a Hot Dog Cart so I can pay rent?
